Carved stone seating installed at memorial site.

It was great to finally install the carved stone seating next to the memorial for the 10th Battalion the Parachute Regiment last week. The carved stone seating has a profile inspired by the iconic shape of the Dakota aircraft that carried the parachutists of this regiment. The memorial, located near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire commemorates the regiment who were decimated during Operation Market Garden in World War 2.

I installed the 3 piece war memorial in October last year and the seating is a new addition to the work. They are carved in Woodkirk sandstone and each contains an inscription relating to the regiment.

The memorial is located at Burrough on the Hill in Leicestershire and is open to the public to view.
