4 shattered sculptors

4 of the finished pieces

Last weekend I hosted my final stone carving weekend of this year. Those who took part worked extremely hard for 2 days to create the flower, the otter, the “paisley” shape, the torso and the Picasso sculpture (not in the picture). Everyone chose to carve Portland Limestone, excellent for beginners, quite soft but a good quality carving stone that takes a good edge. There were surprisingly few aches on the sunday morning which meant that I could continue to crack the whip for most of the day ! Full credit to all of the sculptors though who can be proud of their work.

Anyone wishing to take part in a stone carving course in 2011 should drop me an e-mail and I will add you to the mailing list. I would imagine the next one will be in the Spring when Hall Farm warms up a bit .
